For one week we melted, reformed, evaporated, plunged, dipped, dried off, heated up, sang, puddled, and otherwise explored the saunics of a concrete sanctuary --and then attempted to do the same for others.

We approached the Bennington Museum about playing (with) the historic instruments housed in their collections, many of which were dusty, out of tune, missing parts, and hiding stories. Through a multi-year process, we conceived of an exhibition, publication, and performance series centered around the acts of interring, disinterring, and dislocating objee d’musique in The Archive.

We spent a week in the southernmost town on the Maine coast, attempting to record an album entirely live and in-person. We were consistently broadcasting, performing private sound baths on people, projecting live video feeds, and taking requests. Somehow, we came away with more energy than we put in.

In the world of horticulture, “hybrid vigor” occurs when healthy crossbred plants take on the best qualities of their parents. This album, which is our seventh, blends studio overdubs with free improvised playing. ︎︎︎

Released July 15th, 2025, and we’ll also be on a short tour of the northeast in July. Come on out!

Rags and Sparkle documents the sounds of: a micro-rave, a wedding engagement, wood stacking, ice dyeing, “What would Ken do?”, a bog walk, the hum of an electric car charging, and fireworks exploding from a floating watermelon. We unplugged, dropped out, and fell over. Long live the good ship Galiongee!!!! ︎

Playing for Now charts live shows from 2018-2019 that we intended to continue, were it not for the unfortunate occurrances that began, for us, with a cancelled performance on Friday the 13th of March, 2020. Sounds from Brooklyn, Greenfield, Lake George, Phoenixville, Soltane, and Queens.

Faced with the first canceled show of the emerging pandemic, this Friday the 13th felt important. We had the bright idea to live stream what we might have played, this time from Angus’ studio instead of the local venue. We played three sets for a group of audience members gathered in the cloud over the course of three hours. This is (was?) the final countdown.

New compositions for old instruments. Produced in conjunction with our installation at the Bennington Museum, we commissioned pieces from contemporary composers and made one of our own on the musical objects held in the museum’s archives.

Seven Count is the collaboration of drummer Jake Nussbaum, trumpeter Angus McCullough and windstringer Adam Tinkle. Our collective began in 2016 through improvised acoustic music, and has since grown to include electronic instruments, gallery installations, publications, pirate radio stations, and sonic tea ceremonies.
