Seven Count

2023 ︎︎︎ The Seven Elements
Washington Baths, Portland, ME

For one week we melted, reformed, evaporated, plunged, dipped, dried off, heated up, sang, puddled, and otherwise explored the saunics of a concrete sanctuary --and then attempted to do the same for others.

2020 ︎︎︎ (re)Sounding
Bennington Museum, VT

We approached the Bennington Museum about playing (with) the historic instruments housed in their collections, many of which were dusty, out of tune, missing parts, and hiding stories. Through a multi-year process, we conceived of an exhibition, publication, and performance series centered around the acts of interring, disinterring, and dislocating objee d’musique in The Archive.

2018 ︎︎︎ Blobfest
Community Arts, Phoenixville, PA

As a final act of a two week long residency at Camphill Soltane, we inhabited their affiliate gallery in downtown Phoenixville, which is known for being the location for the classic film The Blob.

2017 ︎︎︎ Request Line
Buoy Gallery, Kittery, ME

We spent a week in the southernmost town on the Maine coast, attempting to record an album entirely live and in-person. We were consistently broadcasting, performing private sound baths on people, projecting live video feeds, and taking requests. Somehow, we came away with more energy than we put in.

2017 ︎︎︎ Invitation
Border Patrol, Portland, ME

Part residency, part exhibition, for 30 days we inhabited our version of a “Superstation” - a place to host conversations, events, live improvisation, crafting, tape-dubbing, and to conduct research into sound’s capabilities for therapeutic and edible uses.
